Tribler 7.6.0 is released today!

Dear Tribler Community,

The first release of Tribler 7.6 series is out! 7.6 series includes many bugfixes and improvements over 7.5, namely:

  • Refactored Channels GUI
  • Fixed slow channel processing - channels processing speed increased 10x-100x times
  • Added Sentry crash report processing
  • Removed TrustChain in favour of our new LedgerZero traffic accounting system
  • Increased Tunnels performance due to refactored IPv8 serializer
  • Completely removed VLC and its dependencies

The binaries are available below or can be downloaded from the official release page at Github repository.
Windows(64-bit)
Windows (32-bit)
Linux
MacOS

As usual, the source code can be found on our Github repository but you can also download it directly here.

Your feedback is very valuable to us. Feel free to either create an issue on GitHub, start a GitHub Discussion, or just respond in this topic.

For developers willing to contribute to Tribler with bug fixes or new features, please check out this page which provides the basic pointers on how to get started.

ATTENTION:

  1. this version includes a mandatory upgrade of your Channels database. This could take up to an hour on very slow PCs with mechanical HDDs and very big databases (e.g. with several million torrent entries). Our “copy forward” system will still keep you old database safe, though, in the versioned dir. To greatly speed up the upgrade process, close all other programs before running 7.6.0 for the first time.
  2. We disabled the token balance indicator for this release, as the new accounting system is not stable enough for production use yet. We will re-enable it in later releases.
  3. This release fixes the insta-crash bug affecting 7.5.4 series. Every user of 7.5.4 is advised to upgrade to this version immediately!

We hope you’ll enjoy using this version.
Cheers!

Sometimes when I just leave this version of Tribler running, the Trust Graph doesn’t update, not even when I press the refresh button, but until I restart the app. This is on Windows 10.

Thanks for reporting! Could you please create an issue on our GitHub? Preferably, with a screenshot

Unfortunately I am locked out of my GitHub. So I may have to make a new account.

When trying to display the trust graph, Tribler gives the following error:

An error occurred during the request:
<class tribler_core.exceptions.TrustGraphException’>: Max node peers reached in graph

I have just received a message (for the 2nd time since yesterday)
“You are running low on disk space (<100MB). Please make sure to have sufficient free space available and restart Tribler again.”
I checked and none of my drives has <100MB of free space. What is more the button “Close Tribler” does not work- I have to close program with task menager. Is it only me?
Even if some temp files od whatever are lowering my free disc space the button should at least work
