Are you restricted to Tribler searches?

I just downloaded Tribler. I’m new to this.
I’m used to magnet links and traditional torrenting.
Can I use Tribler for magnets and links outside of Tribler’s search or am I limited to whatever Tribler finds (which is extremely scarce)?

And why are there never any peers on these search results?

UPDATE: I just found the Import Torrent link tab.

So if I import a magnet link, is that just as safe in terms of anonymity (the security option for proxy downloading for Low Speed High Anonymity)? Or do settings not apply to imported?

Hi,

You can download torrents found on other websites with Tribler. Just make sure that you enable anonymous downloading/safe seeding when starting a download (this should be enabled by default).
