Triblers' download and upload speeds

I have noticed on several torrents that peers uploads speed very seldom reach 12 kbts per second.
Almost the same for down loads.

I have, on bandwith, unlimited for both.

Currently on one torrent, 18 users but upload speed is 3.3kbts.

My server is showing 575 kbts D/L and 264 kbts U/L.

I am currently just running Tribler and reading e-mails.

Is this how Tribler system works??

Should it be faster for when I use UTorrents ( 6 torrents) I get D/L speeds from 50 kbits to 1.2 megs and U/L speeds from 45 kbts to 550 kbts. (Also running Tribler at the same time)
My server shows D/L speed of up to 2 megs and U/L up to 800 kbts.

I do not see any speed improvement just running Tribler by itself.

If you enable tunneled downloads you are bound to the lower bandwidth available in the whole circuit, that’s somewhat mitigated by the fact ~8 of them are created per download, but it will always be slower than plain downloads. If you don’t care about that, just disable tunneled downloads and it will go as fast as any other torrent client.
